What a byline is worth
Nothing, on its own. It vouches for identity, not for arithmetic. The method does that, and it is written to be checked without our cooperation.

Why a forwarder built this

Because the question kept arriving and nobody could answer it. A customer would ask what the duty on a shipment should have been, and the honest answer was that it depended on the schedule as it stood on that entry’s own date — which changed repeatedly through 2025 and 2026, sometimes four times in two months. Every available tool read today’s schedule. So the schedule was rebuilt month by month, and then set against what importers were actually charged. That comparison turned out to be the thing nobody else publishes.

How this is kept honest

Corrections are published with the size of the error 23 of them. Not “we updated a figure” but “the figure was 7.9× high, here is why”. A withdrawn claim keeps its address and prints its reason; it never quietly disappears. Tests that went against us are published anyway Including the pre-registered one that decided this is a measurement and not a refund pitch. Every number can be rebuilt without asking us The sources are public, the fields are named, and the key is free.

The standing rule is the uncomfortable one: findings that flatter the forwarding business get more scrutiny before publication, not less.
